111 CENTRE STREET, Sept 15 – It was two a.m. on an October morning in 2021 on 121st Street in East Harlem when one man shot another and a young woman called the police.
Flash forward nearly four years to September 15, 2025 when the accused shooter, now on trial, watched as his retained attorney Dawn Florio asked the young woman, Do you still love my client?
"Objection!" the prosecutor said. The jurors and the witness were told to leave the courtroom. But Inner City Press remained.
Ms. Florio, who in the nearby Federal court has represented among others the Bling Bishop Lamor Whitehead, argued successfully for the admission of stills from the street surveillance videos.
With the witness back on the stand, she asked, Is that you by the fire hydrant? It was.
The victim shared a Facebook account with the witness' mother. Was this sharing some sort of euphemism?
The trial continues.
