SDNY COURTHOUSE, Feb 11 – A man charged with four attempted arsons including one of a passenger on the NYC subway was presented on February 11 before U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York Magistrate Judge Stewart D. Aaron. Inner City Press was there, the only media in the SDNY Mag Court.
The AUSA sought detention on dangerousness grounds. He said the defendant had been arrested for slashing in mid December but released by NYS courts.
The Federal Defender argued for release, citing treatment.
After a break with Pre-Trial Services, Judge Aaron ordered detention.
