EXCLUSIVE, April 24 – Young Freeman Perry, 76, was arrested and bailed on April 24 for wire fraud. Inner City Press was there.
Perry appeared before U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York Magistrate Judge Ona T. Wang with a retained (paid) lawyer.
He listed his residents first as 10 Mariner Place in Edgewater, New Jersey - then as 92 Doe Court in Brick, NJ 108723. The Assistant US Attorney said this was fine, as will be travel to Las Vegas.
Perry is listed, too, in Panama. His lawyer said Perry's wife had his passport, "downstairs."
Why not upstairs in the Mag Court, where Inner City Press was the only civilian, was not clear. He was released on $250,000 personal recognizance bond, to be co-signed by his wife.
He has also been sued in Federal Court in Chicago, by SPM Capital Holdings. Inner City Press will stay on the case(s).
