FEDERAL COURT, April 20 – Minutes into a break in the impeachment trial in the U.S. Senate, accused insurrectionist Domenic Pezzola was ordered detained until trial by Magistrate Judge Robin M. Meriweather. Inner City Press live tweeted it, below. There was an appeal.
On March 26, after the DC Circuit's decision in US v. Munchel, Oregon's Jonathanpeter Klein was ordered detained by DDC Magistrate Zia Faruqui. Inner City Press live tweeted it, story here.
Now on April 20, DDC District Judge Moss held a proceeding about Jonathanpeter's also detained brother, Matthew Leland Klein. Inner City Press live tweeted it here:
M. Klein's lawyer: He traveled to DC, that is legal. He participated in a rally - legal. He is not a member of the Proud Boys. He was there as an individual. No hand signals - that was his brother
M. Klein's lawyer: Then President Trump said, March to the Capitol. And there was nothing illegal about that. He had no bear spray. He was with some people when a door was wrenched open. He was in the building. He was just there.
M. Klein's lawyer: He would live three hours outside of Portland. With an ankle monitor. And not attending any political rallies, neither left wing nor right wing.
Judge Moss: Pre-Trial Services would need to access the location, and if GPS works there. Lawyer: I can contact Oregon Pre-Trial Services. Judge Moss: He had a baseball bat. He was not there to play baseball. Defense: These rallies get violent.
AUSA: The only one with bear spray who has been release is because of a plea agreement, a cooperation agreement.
Judge Moss: I'll like the parties to submit the video, and information from Oregon Pre-Trial Services. By close of business on Thursday. If I'm inclined to believe there are conditions of release, we'll reconvene, I'd then like to speak with his mother
Inner City Press will stay on this case.
We will have more on this.
